Abstract

515,370. Collapsable tubes. HENDERSON, D. May 30, 1938, No. 16110. [Class 66] A collapsable tubular container comprises a body A, formed by winding a blank of vegetable parchment or other paper, the body being formed with a pleated inturned upper end 3 to which a non-metallic head portion, preferably of synthetic resin, is clamped. The head may comprise a neck and shoulder part 4, 5, and a superposed clamping collar 5a, Fig. 6, or one in which an annular member 8, Fig. 7, is forced into a peripheral recess at the underside of the shoulder part. The folds of the body are secured together by waterproof non-cracking glue which may be employed to secure the pleats of the end 3 together.
