Abstract

515,010. Beer &c. pump apparatus. BEAL, W.. POTTER, J., and LEWIS, S. W. May 20, 1938, No. 15039. [Class 102 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] Apparatus for supplying liquid, such as beer, from a storage vessel 18, mixed with a second liquid from a secondary supply vessel 24, comprises a receptacle 11, 15, at a level below that of the cask 18 and communicating therewith by a pipe 17, and two tubular limbs 19, 22 extending upwardly from the receptacle. These limbs may be arranged concentrically as shown. The outer limb 19 is connected at its upper end 21, which is above the level of the top of the cask 18, by a downwardly extending pipe 25 with the secondary vessel 24. When liquid is not being drawn off by a pump, through the delivery limb 22, that limb is full and the other limb 19 contains liquid to the level of that in the cask. When pumping occurs, liquid is drawn from the cask and from the limb 19, whereby the pressure is reduced in the upper end of the limb and a supply of the second liquid is drawn by suction from the vessel 24.
