Abstract

514,455. Discharge apparatus. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, LTD., and GOODCHILD, F. D. May 6, 1938, No. 13613. [Class 39(i)] In electron discharge apparatus an anode or plate electrode comprises spaced plates A, Fig. 1, connected by members B made of a more refractory metal so as to facilitate heating of the plates by induction. Fig. 2 shows a pentode valve electrode assembly in which the anode,A, B, three grid electrodes and a central cathode are mounted on mica end plates 3 supported from the stem 2 of the envelope 1 by rods 4 and brackets 5. The connection to the inner grid is brought out of the top of the envelope and is shielded from the anode by the shield 6.
