514,355. Altimeters. BLOCH, E. Jan. 26, 1938, No. 2475. Void. Convention date, Jan. 26, 1937. Drawings to Specification. [Class 106 (ii)] The instrument is provided with three concenric scales, one giving the water ebullition point, the second giving the corresponding atmospheric pressure, and the third the direct reading of the altitude worked out from special tables. The hypsometer comprises a reservoir in which is located an electric heating resistance, a thermometer dipping into the reservoir, the indication of which is transmitted electrically to a pointer running over a thermometer scale. The resistance is adjusted by thermostat to maintain the ebullition point at 100‹ for a pressure of 760 m.m. The two pointers ,connected to a barometer of the Bourdon or other type and to the thermometer respectively are connected by articulated levers - to a pointer continuously bisecting the angle between them the latter pointer being fitted with a magnifying glass to read over the height scale.
