Abstract
513,696. Soap. MANGEOT, G. April 13, 1938, No. 11379. [Class 91] Soap which hydrolyses only very slightly in water is obtained by saponifying with soda a slight excess of a mixture of substantially pure oleic acid and substantially pure myristic acid. A neutral or acid colloid, e.g., solubilized casein is preferably added for toilet use. There may also be added weak acids or acid salts, e.g., phosphoric, citric, tartaric; salicylic, boric, lactic, or fatty acids, acid phosphates, and aluminium acetate. Suitable proportions are 50 lb. each of oleic and myristic acids, soda for saponification, and 0.5-1.0 per cent. of solubilized casein.
