Abstract

513,334. Electric liquid heaters. HOLLAND, L. April 7, 1938, No. 10605. [Class 39 (iii)] In a flow heater comprising flat passages 6 for liquid stacked and clamped together, with heating elements 10 arranged between adjacent passages, the elements comprise flat cores 15 carrying resistance windings and arranged between insulating layers 14, secured by metal edge clamps 16. Sheet metal collars 17 surrounding the cores at the ends thereof are pressed into contact with the feed wires and the ends of the windings. The passages are formed by copper pipes secured together by spaced metal clamps 11. The pipes are surrounded by insulation 13 and arranged in a casing 12.
