Abstract
512,860. Motors. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. March 22, 1938, No. 8793. Convention date, March 22, 1937. [Class 35] The stator of an electric motor comprises a group of polygonal laminations 2 mounted in a frame 1 which is perforated in the form of a grid, the transverse bars of which embrace the greater part of the flanks of the laminations while the corners of the laminations extend through the meshes of the grid. The frame may consist of a metal sheet, Fig. 3, having rectangular openings at 3 to receive the corners of the laminae and having inwardly bent flanges 4 which bear against the end faces of the laminated core. The projecting corners of the laminations are preferably cut off flush with the external surface of the frame. The spaces between the straight flanks of the core and the curved frame may' be employed as cooling ducts and may receive connecting bolts for the bearing brackets. In a modification, the frame is flattened against the core flanks but is cylindrical at its ends. Fig. 8 shows a cast or die-cast frame 12 having integral feet 13. As applied to a single-phase capacitor motor, the slot depth is progressively increased from the smallest slot for the auxiliary phase winding to the largest slot for the main phase winding.
