Abstract

512,030. Watches. MORF, E. Feb. 24, 1938, No. 5866. [Class 139] In a watertight watch case having the case band a and back b in one piece, the crystal e and band a are so formed that the crystal is forced into the band, the crystal having on its rim a formation (edge e<1>) which permits the crystal to be gripped for removal. The grip between crystal and band is assisted by a ring g. The band and back may be an integral piece or two parts permanently connected as by soldering. The crystal is preferably a transparent product of polymerisation of acrylic acid. In a modification, Fig. 2, the crystal has a groove e' for removal and the ring g is replaced by the dial g<1>. In another form, Fig. 5, the crystal has the cross section shown so that after being forced into the case band, the camber of the crystal holds it firm.
