[Class 39 (ii)] A holder for a key is combined with a battery lamp, the bulb of which is lighted when the key is moved into its projected position for use. The device comprises a box 8 with an aperture at one end behind which the bulb is mounted and a slot 10 adjacent thereto through which the key is projected by sliding a carrier plate 29. A stud 33 on the plate 29 is arranged to extend through a hole in the flat handle of the key, and projects outwardly through a guide slot in the side of the box 8 to form an operating member upon which a detachable head or clip 36 is secured. When the key 11 is moved outwardly the plate 29 depresses a blade spring 23 arranged in its path and closes the lamp circuit. Preferably a control switch with a slidable operating-head 40 is also provided, so that the switch 23 can be rendered inoperative during daylight or other occasions when the lamp is not required. The holder may be adapted for keys of slightly varying size by providing it with a resilient wire member 48 with springy arms 49 arranged to engage the neck of the key. The battery is of the flat type and is located below the handle of the key when the latter is in its inner position. The battery may be withdrawn by moving a slidable end plate 47 and pulling upon the free end of a length of flexible material which passes behind the battery and is fixed at its other end. According to the Provisional Specification the holder or carrier may be employed for tools of various forms.
