[Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXI] A flexible mounting unit for reciprocating engines, pumps, compressors and the like, comprises a block ,j of rubber or like resilient material arranged between and vulcanized or otherwise attached to a pair of diagonally opposed angle plates k, l, a slot n being formed through the block to increase the initial flexibility, which may be further regulated by the insertion in the slot of a strip p of fibre or the like. The angle plates, through winch may pass attachment means, such as bolts m, respectively cover the top or bottom of the block and part of one side, being also flanged to embrace the ends as shown in Fig. 5. The fibre &c. strip may be kept in position by pads q carried by the bent-down ends or sides of the bracket &c. g to which the unit is attached.
