Abstract

508,626. Heating by electricity. CONA, Ltd., and LORCH, W. July 6, 1938, No. 20067. [Class 39 (iii)] A radiant electric heater for a coffeeinfusing apparatus having a round bottomed flask 1 containing water to be heated, comprises an electric resistance wire 9 wound on a conical steatite former 8, mounted in a conical reflector 10 which directs heat towards the base of the flask. A grid 11 is provided between the heater and the flask 1. The heater unit is positioned between the bifurcated feet of the base 14 of a stand supporting the flask 1. A lug 13 on the base of the heater fits into a socket 13a in the base 14, so that an imperforate part 12 of the grid 11 is arranged to protect the upright 5 of the stand from radiation.
