505,543. Packeting ; unpacking. HANSEN, K. C. K. Nov. 3, 1938, No. 31884. [Class 94 (i)] In order to facilitate the packing and unpacking of trays of eggs in a box, vertical frame members 6 are arranged to project through slots 7, 8 in the packing table 1 and box 9 respectively and to be moved vertically to lift or lower a pile of filled trays, The frames are connected by a yoke 5 and are attached by means of a cord 10 to a counterweight in the form of a piston sliding in an air chamber provided with an adjustable air valve. For packing, the counterweight is slightly less than that of the frame members and the loaded trays so that the latter descend into the box at a speed regulated by the air valve. For unpacking, a compressed helical spring above the piston is released and depresses the piston to raise the frames and trays out of the box.
