Abstract

505,453. Cathode-ray tubes. WEISS, G. Nov. 23, 1937, No. 32270. Convention date, Nov. 24, 1936. [Class 39 (i)] In a method of scanning a light-sensitive mosaic electrode, the ray is suppressed and during the time of suppression the potential of the anode is increased to collect the photoelectrons and secondary electrons. The time during which the ray is suppressed may be one half of the scanning period and the frequency of suppression may be equal to the carrier frequency or to that at which the picture is scanned. The secondary 7 of a transformer, supplied with sinusoidal or rectangular highfrequency current, is connected through a condenser 6 between the control electrode of the electron gun and the anode 4. The beam is adapted to scan a mosaic 2.,
