Abstract

505,400. Wireless signalling. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. May 6, 1938, No. 13615. Convention date, June 15, 1937. [Class 40 (v)] Relates to repeaters in which interaction between the receiving and retransmitting aerials is prevented by the employment of loop circuits of the kind described in Specification 491,359. In one embodiment, Fig. 4, the output of an amplifier 208 is connected to a. transmitting aerial 201 and its input to the nodal point 225, 227 on a loop circuit made up of the radiation path C between the aerial 201 and a receiving aerial 202 and a line joining the latter with the output of the amplifier 208. In order that the point 225, 227 may be a voltage node for the amplifier output traversing the loop, the electrical length of the. branches on either side thereof may be adjusted by the loop conductors 229, 230, and the adjustable attenuators 408, 204 andreflected energy produced by the attenuator 408 may be partially absorbed by resistances 231. One or both of the aerials 201, 202 may be directional. In another embodiment, , Fig. 5, the two branches of the loop each contain a radiation. path E, F, respectively, two receiving aerials 302, 303 being provided and a transmitting aerial 301, the latter being connected to the output of an amplifier 309 whose input is connected to the nodal point 305, 307 in the line joining the two receiving aerials 302, 303. The receiving aerials may form a directive array or one of them may be efficient to receive radiation from the transmitting aerial 301 only.
