505,331. Slicing-machines. JORGENSEN, M. M. P. Aug. 2, 1938, No. 22801. Convention date, Jan. 12. [Class 28 (ii)] In a slicing-machine having an inclined gauge plate 2 across which the substance is reciprocated, the plate 2 is made of transparent material, e.g. glass, or, as shown, in grid form, so that deposition of slices upon the table 7 may be observed from a position 6 above the gauge plate. The bars 4 of the grid may be arranged substantially vertically and may be - tapered downwaxdly in cross-section. Preferably, the lower part of the plate 2 is solid to assist the support of the meat. The meat is held in an angular holder 8 which is reciprocated by a handle 9; the plate 2 is adjusted, for slice-thickness regulation, by a screw 3 ; and the knife is driven by a motor 10.
