505,301. Converting ; phase-changing. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., RUDENBERG, R., and TAYLOUR, H. H. Feb. 28, 1938, No. 6265. [Class 38 (ii)] To reduce harmonics in a twelve anode rectifier installation fed from a three-phase supply, a phase multiplying transformer arrangement is employed comprising two sixphase secondary winding systems mutually phase displaced by 15‹ so that successive anode circuits are phase displaced by 15‹ and 45" alternately. The transformer arrangement may comprise main secondary windings 3 ... 6 associated with a primary 1 and phase displacement windings 11 ... 14 associated with a primary 10. Alternatively, the main and phase displacement secondaries may be associated with a common primary, Fig. 2 (not shown). In each case an interphase transformer system 7, 8, 9 is employed for interconnecting the star points of the four starconnected winding systems.
