[Class 135] [Also in Group XXII] A valve seating ring 1 is secured in position by forming a recess or groove a along one or both sides of the seating ring where it fits in the valve body, locating a length of metallic wire d or strip or bonded metallic dust d having a lower melting point than the body or seating in said recess or recesses and heating the assembled body, seating ring and bonding metal to a temperature sufficient to melt said metal without melting the other parts.
