[Class 122 (v)] A gland nut E has a convex surface R engaging a conical surface on a lead or other malleable metal packing ring J. The end surface of the packing ring engaging the bottom of the box may be flat or conical. A ring of rubber may be arranged inside the packing for insulating purposes. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes alternative packing ring forms comprising conical rings and metal tube filled with shot. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
