502,235. Napped tubular fabrics. BACKOFEN,F. Aug. 2, 1938, No. 22834. Convention date, Dec. 13,1937. [Class 142 (iv)] [Also in Groups XVI and VIII] A damping-roller for a lithographic machine is provided with a covering comprising a seamless tube of double woven material with a substantial nap on the exterior and interior surfaces, the nap being only on one side of a thread. As shown, a single thread beginning at A passes over one and under four weft threads Q for the inner turns and over four and under one for the outer turns until-the desired length of'tube is obtained. Both surfaces are then napped but as only one side of each turn of thread is napped, the strength of the thread is maintained.
