Abstract

502,131. Electromagnets. ROVIG, S. Jan. 17, 1938, No. 1495. Convention date, Jan. 23, 1937. [Class 35]. A lifting magnet with a circular lifting surface has a number of cores along its circumference magnetized by direct current to form north and south poles alternately. In the form shown, the magnet has twelve poles 1-12 each surrounded by a winding 13. If desired the magnet may have central and annular polepieces which in turn are surrounded by the series of poles near the periphery.
