In Thomas-type splints, that is splints having a limb-encircling ring e and a U-shape frame comprising side members b<1>, b<2>, the ring is rotatably secured by a countersunk rivet a and a countersunk bolt c<1> carrying a fly-nut c and a lock-nut d, the tops of the members b<1>, b<2>, and the ring adjacent the bolt c<1>, being flattened. The construction permits flat-folding for transit. '
