[Class 108 (i)] [Also in Group XXXI] To provide cooling air for rear engines in streamlined or other vehicles, the vehicle body is gradually widened from front to rear to a maximum width at a short distance behind the rear seats 5, the apertures 6 for the admission of cooling air being provided close in front of this widened portion. The rear part 7 is tapered, the vacuum formed thereby when travelling assisting engine ventilation. The sides of the body at the widest part may be inclined so that the upper part is narrower than the base. The plane of the widest cross-section may be vertical or rearwardly inclined.
