[Class 12 (i)] A series of needle roller bearings 6 is arranged between a crank-pin 1 and the connecting-rod 3 of an engine. The needles 6 are retained in position by flanges 7, secured to the crank pin or to rings fixed thereto, overhanging the ends of the needles. The diameter of the needles is determined after the race surfaces have been machined and carefully measured. The needle rollers may be separated by needles of slightly smaller diameter.
