Abstract
500,982. Watch cases. RUGER,H. C. Sept. 1, 1937, No. 23908. [Class 139] A watch case consists of a domelike crystal detachably clamped to the movement supporting platform. A flange 14, Fig. 2, contains the watch movement 10. The crystal 24, Fig. 2, is held between the flange 14 and a lower flange 22. To accommodate the stem 20 of the movement the crystal and the flange are cut-out at 26, Fig. 2. The crystal is secured by two oppositely disposed spring clips 30, Figs. 3 and 5. The resilient member 44, Fig. 3, fits into a seat 34 undercut in the flange 14. Lugs 46, Fig. 5, on the member 44 fit into scats 36. The clasp 30, Fig. 5, is pivotalty mounted between the lugs 38 upon the pintle 42. The dip 30, Fig. 3, is held in position when engaged or released by the tensions in the member 44. The crystal 24 may be replaced by a domelike member having a metal bezel with an upper crystal.
