Abstract
500,307. Pistons. BORRMANN, W., and KEUNE, A. Oct. 11, 1937, No. 27543. [Class 122 (i)] The piston head is reduced in diameter to accommodate a ring g projecting beyond the piston head, the shoulder of the reduced portion being bevelled at o to form an oil channel communicating e.g. by axial grooves n with one or more circumferential grooves m in the ring. The ring may be retained by a hard metal insert i. Two internal projections f, f <1>, Fig. 4, may be provided on the ring to engage grooves in the head and the projection f <1> may be pressed axially by a two-part spring p enclosed between two plates having intumed edges. The upper end of the piston may be made resilient by two H-form slots.
