497,535. Shaft couplings. HASLER AKT.-GES. WERKE FUR TELEPHONIE UND PRAZISIONSMECHANIK. April 14, 1938, No. 11567. Convention date, May 3, 1937. [Class 80 (ii)] Lubricant is introduced between the relatively sliding members of telescopic shafting from outside the external member through the wall of that member. In the form shown, the external tubular member 2 has a ring of holes 4, at about the centre of its length, through which lubricant can flow to the contact surfaces of the sliding members 1, 2 from a hollow collar 3 on the member 2 with a forcedlubrication nipple 5. Packing 7 at the end of the member 2 retains lubricant and wipes dirt off the member 1. The telescopic shaftmembers 1, 2 may be of circular, quadrangular or polygonal crosssection.
