[Class 125 (ii)] A machine for continuously sealing bottles with caps in which the caps pass from a hopper through a guide chute to a sealing head has a plurality of sealing heads disposed on a revolving head so that one of said heads takes up a cap automatically supplied thereto, whilst another seals the bottle beneath it. The revolving head is vertically reciprocated by a toggle mechanism and is intermittently rotated by a Maltese cross movement. Each sealing head is provided with an ejector pin to eject any cap which might remain in the head after the sealing operation. Fig. 1a represents the lower half of the machine and shows motor 40 which drives bevels 43, 44, shaft 45, bevels 46, 24, crank 23, toggle arms 19, 20 and so imparts a vertical reciprocation to the sleeve 12. Motion is also imparted through gearing 47, 48 and pin 49 to the Maltese cross 50 having six slots, whereby the vertical shaft 16 is turned one-sixth of a revolution each time the sleeve 12 is reciprocated. The reciprocating sleeve 12 carries the revolving head 11, shown in its uppermost position in Fig. 1, (which represents the upper half of the machine), and in plan, Fig. 4. When the revolving head 11 descends, a portion of larger diameter engages the roller 7 mounted on a cranked lever pivoted at 6, whereby the lower end of the lever carrying stirrup 4 on to which a capsule has been fed from shoot 2 is swung under one sealing head and the capsule picked up by spring-loaded fingers or the like ; simultaneously, a sealing head 10 with capsule descends on the bottle and seals same, the heads being spring-loaded. The revolving head then rises and rotates onesixth of a turn and the cycle is repeated, the bottles being fed by intermittently rotating star wheels 38, 39, Fig. 1a, having recesses 36, Fig. 4. Each sealing head has a central spring- loaded ejector rod for clearing the head prior to receiving another capsule, each such rod having a roller 30 at its upper end which is depressed by engagement with an inclined member 31 on the frame. The mechanism for automatically feeding the capsules comprises a hopper 1, Fig. 9, vibrated about pivot 66 by ratchet and pawl 62, 61 ; the capsules are fed in single layer to an assorting hopper 65 from which they are picked up by a positioning disc 68 ; the capsules are held by spring-loaded balls 69 and fed singly into shoot 2,
