Abstract

495,716. Moulding confectionery. WALTERS, J., and WALTERS' PALM TOFFEE, Ltd. May 19, 1937, No. 13939. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group VI] A sweetmeat slab comprising a flat base 4 divided by scored lines 5 into portions 6 of square, rectangular or polygonal shape, each portion having a disc or dome 7 centrally disposed and superimposed thereon with a surrounding margin of the base portion, is formed by apparatus comprising a plunger 8 with a depending knife 9 adapted to cut out the slab from a mass of material and intersecting blades 10 scoring the slab into the portions 6. The cells formed in the plunger by the blades are each provided with a centrally disposed cavity 11 for forming the discs or domes 7 and an ejecting plunger 12 is provided in each cavity. In use, the plungers 12 are raised sufficiently to form the raised domes 7, shoulders 13 of the cells forming the surrounding margins of the base.
