[Class 132 (iii)] A doll has eyeballs fixed relatively to the head, and eyelids which may be raised or lowered over the eyeballs, by means of a weight connected with the eyelids, wherein the body portion of the doll has one or more eccentric projections, preferably resilient, into contact with which the weight may move, or which may be moved into contact with said weight, and from which said weight may be released, according to the angular position of the head. A doll's head 11 is made of rubber or other material and has eyelids 15 of thin rubber which can cover eyeballs 13 mounted in sponge rubber 21 in sockets 20 and located therein by projections 23 engaging pockets or apertures 22 in the sockets. A bar 29 rotatable in a bearing 28 carries a rod 30 and weight 31, and has its ends 32 flattened to engage metal strips 33 with a portion 36 bent into an arc centred on the bar 29 and sliding with rotation of the bar 29 through a slot 37 in the eye socket. The end of. the portion 36 engages the eyelid 15 which puckers naturally when raised. In a modification a bearing 46, Fig. 9, supports a rotatable arm 47 carrying extensions 49 engaging the lid-connecting members 48 centred on the axis of the arm 47. A rubber projection 52, Fig. 10, is mounted eccentrically in the head so as to engage the weight 31 when the head is turned to one side, to enable the eyes to remain open or closed in vertical or horizontal position of the doll. The connection between head and body may be by a mushroom headed projection on the head fitting into an aperture in the body.
