Abstract

494,974. Ball and roller bearings. COPLEY, W. A. May 10, 1937, No. 13246. [Class 12 (i)] In order to facilitate the fitting of ball or roller bearings to the rollers of printing, embossing and like machines, the ends of the rollers are provided with adaptors comprising a sleeve A adapted to slide on to the end of the roller, a fixed collar B on the inner end of the sleeve and a loose collar C screwed on to the outer end of the sleeve to secure the bearing E between the collars, the sleeve being locked in position by a second loose collar D screwed on to the end of the roller. Relative rotary movement between the roller and sleeve is prevented by one or more keys b.
