Abstract
494,464. Supplying pulp to paper-making machines. VOITH, W., VOITH, H., and VOITH, H., (trading as VOITH, J. M., [Firm of]). Dec. 20, 1937, Nos. 35258 and 35259. Convention dates, Dec. 19, 1936 and Dec. 16, 1937. [Class 96] Paper pulp is fed at high speed between an upper lip E and a lower lip D to the wire-cloth of a paper-making machine from an inlet B, the parts B, D, E being adjustable horizontally, vertically, or pivotally, independently of the rest of the pulp supply system to vary the direction and position of impact of the pulp on the wire and connected resiliently by one or more internally smooth pipes A with a pipe line a<2> to a feed pump a or a flow box e with high pulp pressure. Pulp from a pipe g is pumped at P with white water from a reservoir S to strainers &c. d and to the flow box e which has a float-controlled outlet e<2> and in which pulp is aerated. The pump motor a<3> is controlled by hand or'automatically and the pump motor p<3> is controlled automatically from the float e<1>. Uniform distribution of pulp may be ensured by plates and a perforated roller within the inlet B.
