Abstract

494,431. Drying-cabinets. MACARTY, J. C., and HEATON, L. May 20, 1937, No. 14017. [Classes 34 (i) and 34 (ii)] In a drying-installation comprising a drying space 3, exhaust outlet 2 and an L-shaped space 7-4 housing a fan 5 coupled to a heater 6 and a communicating duct 8 for supplying hot air downwardly to the drying space, the drying air entering at the top of the installation, such as through apertures 11, is preheated by flowing over the outside of the duct 8 and the heater 6 before entering a duct 13 communicating with the suction side of the fan. A proportion of used air from the drying space is withdrawn through apertures 15 and duct 16 to mingle with the fresh drying air in a duct 14 connected to the duct 13. Direct connection with the drying space may be made for this purpose by a duct 17. The installation may be used for drying clothes or powdered material.
