Abstract

494,125. Stands. TIBBINS, A. D. June 17,1937, No. 16818. [Class 52 (v)] In a telescopic stand for smokers' ash-trays the tray 1 is held at the desired height by a ring 13 of compressible material such as leather, fibre, &c. forced into the open end of each of the outer tubes 7, 8, so that the friction at the periphery of the ring is greater than that in its bore. The ends of the outer tubes are closed by screw caps 14 and the movable tubes are flared at 15 to limit the extending movement.
