Abstract
Artificial leather waste, consisting of animal, vegetable or mineral fibres agglutinated by synthetic resins such as vinyl or glycero-phthalic resins, or dimethylol urea, is disintegrated by passage between differentially geared rolls at a temperature of 50 to 60 DEG C., and then mixed with a solvent such as a chlorinated hydrocarbon. Agents for producing a second condensation or polymerization of the binder, such as sulphonic acid for glycerophthalic resins or caustic alkali for phenolformaldehyde resins, may be added during the mixing, also softeners, fillers and fibres. The mix may be extruded, calendered, or moulded.ALSO:Artificial leather waste, consisting of animal, vegetable or mineral fibres agglutinated by rubber, synthetic resins, or siccative oils, is disintegrated by passage between differentially geared rolls at a temperature of 50-60 DEG C., and then mixed with a solvent, such as a chlorinated hydrocarbon. Agents for producing a second vulcanization, condensation or p polymerization of the binder may be added during the mixing, also softeners, fillers and fibres. The mixture may be extruded, calendered, or moulded.
