Abstract
493,506. Metal bottles. CROWN CORK & SEAL CO., Inc. Jan. 6, 1937, No. 19797/38. Convention date, Jan. 11, 1936. Divided out of 488,427. [Class 66] A metal bottle comprises a main cylindrical body part 11, Fig. 1 or Fig. 2, pressed or drawn from a single piece of metal which may be attached to or integral with a conical part 18 and a neck portion 102 formed with a closed end 104 adapted to be cut out by a tool such as 103 to obtain access to the contents. The bottle of Fig. 1 is filled before the separate top is seamed on ; that of Fig. 2 is filled either before the seaming on of the separate bottom or through an aperture therein which is subsequently closed by a soldered disc 105. The bottles are useful for aerated beverages or other liquids under pressure. Specification 488,427 is referred to.
