Abstract

493,122. Respiratory appliances. DRAGER, O. H. Dec. 21, 1936, No. 35093. Void. Convention date, Dec. 21, 1935. [Class 81 (ii)] In closed-circuit respiratory apparatus the oxygen is conducted into the inhaling path, i.e. between the inhaling valve and the facepiece. As shown, in apparatus embodying inhaling and exhaling tubes h, i, absorbent canister d, and breathing bag c, oxygen from a cylinder b is delivered through a valve controlled by a lung-operated lever f and thence through a pipe n to the casing e of the inhaling valve. Where a continuous, and also an emergency oxygen supply are provided, in addition to the lung-operated supply, these supplies may also be effected through the pipe n, the lung-operated supply being taken either from the high-pressure or the low-pressure side of the reducing valve and the continuous and emergency supplies being taken from the low-pressure and high-pressure sides respectively.
