Abstract

492,910. Drying-cabinets. MACKAY, L. H. April 5, 1937, No. 9613. [Class 34 (i)] The heating means in the base of a drying-cabinet comprises heating elements 18 arranged close to and above a centrally apertured plate 12 extending across the cabinet and bounded at tor and bottom by similar side apertured plates 10, 11, the drying air being heated by sinusoidal flow through the compartments formed by the plates. A usual screen 20 is provided to prevent damage to fallen articles from the racks, and flues 7, 8 are formed at the top of the cabinet between the sides and two closed boxes 6 extending across the cabinet above the door level. The side walls and the door may be cavity walls completely enclosing the air therein. Side openings may be provided in the cavity walls to permit air circulation therein. The plates 10-12 may have turned-down side extensions 14 for supports. In a modification, the bottom plate may be replaced by a tray carrying de-humidifying material. Subsidiary heating elements may be arranged below the latter to periodically dry the same and also in the flues to enhance the air circulation. Dimensions of the parts of the cabinet are specified.
