Abstract
491,054. Knitting. SCHONFELD, P. Dec. 2, 1937, No. 33383. Convention date, July 21. Addition to 389,995. [Class 74 (ii)] Transversely ribbed knitted fabric is produced on a warp machine having two lapping machines and only one row of needles. The lower lapping machine when racked in opposite direction to the upper lapping machine, laps its threads 2 over the ground threads 1. This produces a fuller fabric, as compared with the fabric produced according to the parent Specification and enables the number of threads 2 to be reduced to half the number of the threads 1. The threads 2 follow a cycle of six motions as shown ; the lower machine is racked in the same direction as the upper machine in motions 1-4 and in the opposite direction in motion 5. In motion 6 the lower machine is not racked.
