488,755. Wrenches. VAUGHN, L. E. June 23, 1937, No. 17458. [Class 61 (iii)] A wrench for operating well casing &c. comprises oppositely disposed series of pivotallv connected jaws 3, 6 and 4, 5 pivoted to the handle 1, the jaw 4 being mounted for vertical play on its pivot-pin 9 and movable by means of a cam 12 to cause locking projections 13 on a finger 7 on the jaw 5 to engage behind retaining projections 14 on the opposite jaw 6. In the modification, Figs. 19 and 20, the jaw 31 carries a lever 36 and shaft 34 with crank pin 37 engaging a slot 38 in the jaw 33 which is slidably pivoted on a pin 32 fixed in the jaw 31 for moving a locking finger on the jaw 33 into an engaged or disengaged position.
