488,741. Cables. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. March 25, 1937, No. 8892. Convention date, April 14, 1936. Drawings to Specification. [Class 36] A high frequency transmission cable comprises four conductors surrounded by a conducting shield, the diameter of the conductors and their spacing relative, to one another and the shield being such that the high frequency attenuation of the side circuits, formed by diagonally opposite, conductors is a minimum. The Specification meludes graphs from which the optimum diameter of the conductors and their spacing, can be determined. The conductors, which are preferably of such a type, e.g. thin walled tubes, that the high frequency currents are conducted substantially on their surfaces, may be insulated by either solid or gaseous, dielectric and may be arranged helically within the shield or parallel to its axis.
