Abstract
488,531. Linkage. THOMPSON PRODUCTS, Inc. Dec. 29, 1937, No. 35998. Convention date, Sept. 27. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] A link arm construction such as a motor car side steering rod, comprises a metal tube 10, which terminates in tubular sockets 13 surrounding it and welded thereto at 15. A reinforcing sleeve 12 is provided in the tube, and extends away from the part of the tube surrounded by the socket. The sockets 13 are force filled into engagement with the tube. Each socket part may be made from a flat blank 18 provided with dovetailing recesses 20 and projections 19 so that, when the blank is rolled into a tube, the elements 19, 20 interlock. A keyhole slot 14 is punched in the blank.
