Abstract
488,472. Signal lamps &c. BIKKER'S POLYTECHNISCH BUREAU EN HANDELMAATSCHAPPIJ, N. V. Dec. 3, 1937, No. 33504. Convention date, June 25. [Class 75 (iv)] A lamp for use in air raids comprises a number of apertured light absorbing chambers 11, 12 and 13, and a wall 9 screening light from those side walls of the outside chamber 13 visible from without. The lamp may have lenses inside and telescopic parts to vary the light divergence. The lamp bulb 6 may be frosted or a frosted glass 8 may cover an aperture, the screens 7, 9, 10 may be conical or helical and the apertures therein oval, rectangular, or triangular. The lamp can be fixed to the side of a vehicle by brackets 2 and 3, or to a street kerb, or may form part of a hood over vehicle headlamps or street lamps, or be for railway or marine use in signalling.
