Abstract

487,807. Saucepans. TARRANT, H. April 26, 1937, No. 11939. [Class 66] To prevent boiling-over &c. the upper part of a saucepan is formed with an extension 2 of increased diameter within which is removably disposed an annular channel-shaped baffle 5 of truncated conical form provided with perforations 9, 10 and resting by means of a lip 4 on the shoulder 3 of the extension. An inner flanged " emergency " lid 11 fits within the outer wall 7 of the baffle, and an outer lid 14 provided below and above with knobs 16, 19, the former knob resting on the handle 17 of the lid 11, seats on the rim of the extension and is held in place by a clamping band 18, the ends of which engage under the shoulder 3. The pan is intended especially for use on board ships and aircraft.
