[Class 64 (ii)] A thermostatic tube d extending across a steam pipe b is mounted so to be free from lateral vibration. The end of the tube, is secured to a thin metal diaphragm or strip h, clamped to a flange g of an opening e in the pipe b. The diaphragm has sufficient rigidity to prevent lateral movement of the pipe whilst permitting longitudinal expansion thereof.
