[Class 31 (i)] [Also in Group XVI] A machine for cutting, scoring, or creasing a plane surface, e.g. a sheet of paper, along lines which are involutes of a circle comprises disc cutters d carried by a chain 17 over the surface. In the form shown, the paper &c. is supported on a rotating table 3 ; in an alternative form, the chain and cutters are carried by an arm which swings over a fixed table. Each cutter d is resiliently connected by a spring 34 to a link 14 of the chain provided with rolls 18 moving in guides 12, 13. The cutter is provided with rolls 37 which co-operate with cam surfaces 41. Specification 484,056, [Group XXVIII], is referred to.
