Abstract

486,618. Lamp reflector &c. holders. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and DEBENHAM, W. F. S. Jan. 5, 1937, No. 315. [Class 75 (ii)] In a directional lighting fitting such as a street lamp, the reflector 3 is connected to the canopy 1 by the engagement of threads 7, 8, 9 on the canopy gallery 2 with threads 10, 11, 12 on the neck 4 of the reflector, these connecting means being so constructed as to prevent the reflector from being fastened to the canopy except in such a position that it directs the light in the correct direction. In the form shown, the thread 10 extends over slightly less than 60‹ as does also the space between the threads 7, 8 on the gallery 2, this arrangement rendering it impossible for the short thread 10 to engage any other than the correct thread on the gallery. A spring catch 17 having a portion 18 extending into a slot 19 is provided on the gallery 2 to clamp the reflector in position. A prismatic refractor may be used instead of the reflector 3.
