[Class 29] A cabinet &c. refrigerating unit in the form of a removable panel or door is provided with a heat-insulated compartment for the motor-compressor unit of the refrigerating machine, the inner wall and the sides of the compartment being insulated by spaced sheets 5 of polished aluminium and the outer wall, which forms the condenser of the machine, formed of a plain metal plate 14 to which is welded a dimpled plate 15. The evaporator 13 is mounted on the inside of the door and consists of a plain sinuous plate 31 to which is welded a corrugated plate 32. The compressor 7, Fig. 3, and its driving-motor 8, the switch of which is controlled by a thermostat on the evaporator, are supported between plates 11, 12 by springs 10 and are cooled by a refrigerant evaporator coil 24 forming a byepass on the condenser and applied to the motor casing and a current of air propelled upwardly through the compartment by a fan 38 driven by an independent motor 39. The spaces formed between the loops of the evaporator are provided with tiltable shelves 46, Fig. 4, for supporting vessels 43 having handles 45 and containing water &c. and, if desired, removable flexible cellular member 50 for making pieces of ice. Access to the vessels is obtained through an opening in the outer wall of the door closed by a hinged heat-insulated cover 51 adapted to be lowered to an horizontal position to form a shelf. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a circuit including a switch operated by a thermostatic bellows, the fan and the compressor motors and means on door is opened.
