484,788. Electric insulators. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Nov. 30, 1937, No. 33074. Convention date, Dec. 5, 1936. [Class 36] A hollow post-type insulator is filled internally with a solidified foam of a solid insulating substance which clings to the inner walls and whose bubbles filled with dry gas are closed. The foam may be made from an asphaltic or bituminous substance, a rubbery substance (e.g. rubber acetyl cellulose, benzyl cellulose, or dissolved nitrocellulose) or a vitreous substance.
