[Class 37] [Also in Group XL] A magnetron comprising inner and outer systems of electrodes surrounding a cathode K may be used as a voltmeter by applying the voltage to be measured to the inner electrodes J1, J2, the electrodes A1, A2 being the output electrodes. Both systems have the electrodes parallel to the cathode; a magnetic field is applied to the device with its lines also running parallel to the cathode. The electrodes may be of various shapes and each system may have several pairs.
