Abstract

482,911. Awnings. POLLARD & CO., Ltd., E., and POLLARD, H. E. Nov. 13, 1936, Nos. 31115/36 and 18166/37. [Class 20 (iii)] A sun-blind, awning or the like is supported on tubular arms 15 guided in tubular rails 4 and extended by pinions 6 engaging gaps forming a rack in the arms. Each arm may comprise two or more telescopic parts 14, 15, the part 14 being moved inwardly and outwardly, respectively, by chains 18 and 16 fixed at one end and guided by pulleys 19, 17. The inner arm 15 is guided by a pulley 3 on a bracket 2 at its end and a track 4, and by the pinion 6 and roller 20 in a tubular casing 12. The pinions are rotated by hand-operated shaft 10 and worm and wheel 9, 8.
